A native of Spain, Joseph received his BA from Havana University in Cuba. He furthered his studies with Russian impressionist Sergei Bongart. He is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, the California Arts Club, the Northwest Rendezvous Group, and the Plein Air Painters of America. He has won numerous awards, and has been featured in Art of the West. He lives in Culver City CA.
